Pouneh holds a Master of Scoring for Film and Visual Media from Pulse College - Dublin Institute of Technology, as well as a First Class Bachelor Degree in Classical  Music from College of Fine Arts - The University of Tehran.

She started her career as a composer by working on a wide variety of theatre projects, which allowed her to understand the importance of dramaturgy and how to carefully adapt her music to performances. In Jun 2011 Pouneh had the honor of being a member of "30Voices, the most successful Iranian women in the word" in Los Angeles. Her work has also earned the prestigious German Federal Education and Training Scholarship.

As an educator, Pouneh has nearly two decades of experience in leading ensembles, tutoring private lessons and teaching music classes.  She also has the experience of working as an actress in featured movies.

Her evolution into scoring for film and visual media allowed her to work at Windmill Lane Recording Studios together with various industry composers and orchestrators, including Christopher Young (known for Spiderman 3, Drag Me to Hell, and Jennifer Eight), Conrad Pope (known for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Schindler's List, and Pirates of the Caribbean), Andy Hill (Former Vice President of Music Production at Disney), Garry Schyman (known for BioShock), Tommy Laurence (known for How To Train Your Dragon, and Captain Marvel), Rick Taylor, Christo Pavlov, Dr. Garrett Sholdice and Dr. Linda Buckley.
